Find a strand of thick silver. Use wire cutters to cut it to the length desired. Make sure that it is clean and the ends are not pointed. Sand with a heavy metal sandpaper if you have a sharp point on the end.

Glue a small magnet on each end of the silver. You will want a very small magnet for the end that will show on the outside of your lip. Use Super Glue or a substance that will not come loose when wet.

Bend the silver into a hoop and make sure the magnets touch each other and stick. Open the ring and lay one side on the outside of your lip and the other end opposite inside your mouth.

Realize that your tongue will automatically want to touch the inner piece. This reaction is common and you will need to consciously avoid moving the inside piece of the lip ring with your tongue. Choose your food carefully on the days you wear your fake lip ring too.

Take a hoop earring apart to make a temporary lip ring. Remove the clip or post that goes into the ear and just squeeze it in place on your lip. A costume jewelry earring that is made for non-pieced ears will work best as they have the bestspringaction in them.
